Fervor is a project with plenty of heart: a family business inspired by their Italian heritage and driven by a deep love of cool-climate wines that are generous, full of character and very easy to enjoy.

Mike has been making wine in the Great Southern since the mid-1990s, with time at Plantagenet Wines in Mount Barker, his own Garlands label, and more than a decade helping establish Castelli Estate as one of the region’s best-known names. Along the way, he’s built the kind of grower relationships that only come with time – close connections with small vineyard owners across one of Australia’s most underrated cool-climate regions.

Callum brings the next-generation spark. Raised around the family winery, he followed Mike into the cellar, working in the Great Southern, Crozes-Hermitage and Geelong before returning to Western Australia. A 2024 Young Gun of Wine finalist, Callum’s wines show that lovely mix of curiosity and confidence: respectful of place and variety, but never too serious.

Fervor began during the pandemic as a way for Mike and Callum to stay connected while working on opposite sides of the country. What started as a shared family project has quickly become one of the most exciting small labels to come out of the Great Southern in recent years, with Halliday Wine Companion praising the clarity, transparency and sense of provenance in the glass. The brief is simple: work with great people, draw from great sites, have some fun, and make seriously good wine.

The Fervor flight starts bright and textural before moving into expressive, savoury reds. Expect wines full of brightness, texture and good energy, combining Mike’s deep Great Southern experience and Callum’s fresh perspective, resulting in wines made to drink and enjoy in good company.
